When the Danish government passed a new law forbidding smoking indoors I made this information poster to inform the residents of how their building was affected.
It is a simple design, using the world known no smoking sign and the text explaining the new situation. The text reads:
“The law on smoke free environment” became effective August 15th 2007 in all of Denmark. The purpose of the law is to propagate smoke free environments and to prevent subjecting anyone involuntary to the harmful effect of passive smoking.
The law applies among others to workplaces, institutions, places of education and locations with public access. That includes all common areas in Aalborg International Kollegium.”
Above the text it says “Smoking Prohibited” and beneath that “In all common areas of Aalborg International Kollegium”.
The thoughts behind it was to present the information as politely as possible with the least amount of annoyance for the smoker reading the sign.
